Southwind Newfoundlands

About Us:

Breeding Champion Newfoundlands for over 35 years, Southwind Newfoundlands are selectively bred to enhance and exemplify the breed standard. All our Newfoundlands are AKC registered and exhibit a high standard of the breed. Breedings are chosen based on the qualities of each dog to better the breed. Southwind Newfoundlands are of excellent type and disposition.

All our Newfoundlands are tested to insure that any health problems the breed is predisposed to getting are not present. Since large breeds are predisposed to hip displasia, all our Newfoundland dogs are OFA certified to guarantee they have good hips. In additon, all our puppies pass a cardiology check to insure that there are no heart defects present.

On average, one to two litters per year are expected. All the puppies are raised in our home with loving care. When puppies are not occupying the house, there is no shortage of Newfoundlands enjoying their home setting.

The kennel grounds encompass 6+ acres and the enclosed area is entirely fenced. The kennel building originally was built specifically as a breeding kennel, as a result the indoor/outdoor pens are extremely large. In addition to being used for our Newfoundlands, these areas are used for boarding and grooming all breeds of dogs and cats as Greystone Kennels. The kennel is staffed 24 hours a day and is located in Rehoboth, MA.

All our Newfoundlands compete in dog shows accross New England in pursuit of their Championship status. We are also members of the Newfoundland Club of America and the Newfoundland Club of New England. In addition to being a member, Robin Seaman has also served on the director's board for the Newfoundland Club of America for 6 years.
